The cold icy weather has approached us and many parents have been asking what kind of outfits are recommended for outdoor play!
Here are some suggestions for different age groups:
Infants
One piece snowsuit is the most popular and recommended design for infants as it is easy and quick to dress.
However, the most important reason is that it keeps infants warm and insulated as there are fewer ways for chilly air to get through.
Toddlers
Jumpsuits are recommended for toddlers as it is a stage where children want to become more independent and try for themselves.
Jumpsuits are easier to put on than onesies but also blocks the cold air coming through the waistline once you wear a jacket over it.
Preschool
Jumpsuits and pants are recommended for preschoolers.
As children are encouraged to put on their own clothing, jumpsuits and pants are more age appropriate.
Depending on the temperature, it is important to wear a fleece or sweatshirt inside the snowsuit and jackets to keep warm.
Waterproof gloves and boots are also a necessity when going outside as it keeps children warm and dry.
Neck warmers are permitted in our center, however scarves are not acceptable as it can cause choking.
